EXERCISE - YOU ALREADY KNOW YOU SHOULD GET MOVING. NOW LET ME TELL YOU WHY.
By: "William L.C. Fernandes"
____________________________________________________________________________
Exercise helps to control your weight by using excess calories that
otherwise would be stored as fat. Your body weight is regulated by the
number of calories you eat and use each day. Everything you eat contains
calories, and everything you do uses calories, including sleeping,
breathing, and digesting food. Any physical activity in addition to what
you normally do will use extra calories.
Balancing the calories you use through physical activity with the
calories you eat will help you achieve your desired weight. When you eat
more calories than you need to perform your day's activities, your body
stores the extra calories and you gain weight. When you eat fewer
calories than you use, your body uses the stored calories and you lose
weight. When you eat the same amount of calories as your body uses, your
weight stays the same.
Any type of physical activity you choose to do -- strenuous activities
such as running or aerobic dancing or moderate-intensity activities such
as walking or household work -- will increase the number of calories
your body uses. The key to successful weight control and improved
overall health is making physical activity a part of your daily routine.

If you've been with us a while, you'll remember when Goa-World
introduced the Gulf Goans Mailing List - Weekend Post a few months' back
with only 50 odd subscribers. Our line-up back then was, admittedly, small
- just a couple of reports on events held and upcoming, general info on Goa
and Goa related activies - period.
To this, your response was enthusiastic. And over the weeks, we've
really enjoyed the way you've asked for new and different items. And we
gladly did oblige. Classifieds including real estate, matrimonial, seeking
jobs, restuarants, etc. We have also in the past few days responded to
several enquiries and those which were out of our reach, have been passed on
for relevant sourcing.
Fact is, we have covered lots of ground in pursuit of information and
data for our subscribers, browsers and friends on the Goa-World website, and
we wouldn't have it any other way (and we quote) "always been done".
Keep the emails flowing.... your valued suggestions are always welcome.
If you have missed on any previous issues, we have now archived them

New Indian envoy to UAE
from India Abroad News Service
New Delhi, Oct 15 - K.C. Singh, Spokesman of the External Affairs
Ministry, has been named to succeed Ambassador M.P.M. Menon as India's
Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
Although the date for the change of guard in the Indian Embassy in Abu
Dhabi is still to be announced, it is learnt that Menon will be leaving
his post soon.
Singh, 5 0, is familiar with the Arab world. Trained in Arabic, he
served in Cairo during 1976-78. He was also in Ankara from 1 9 8 7 to
1 9 8 9 before returning to New Delhi for a long stint in the Minitry of
External Affairs.
As Joint Secretary (Consular, Passport and Visa) between 1 9 9 6 and 1 9
9 8, he played a key role in negotiations for a consular agreement with
the UAE and the Indo-UAE extradition treaty which is awaiting signature
by the two sides.
Singh, popularly by his initials "KC", was appointed Spokesman of the
External Affairs Ministry in April this year.
Apart from being a major source of energy, the UAE is home to more
than 6 0 0, 0 0 0 Indian expatriates who account for nearly a third of
the Gulf state's population. Abu Dhabi and New Delhi are also working
together as part of ongoing efforts by India and the Gulf nations to
forge a broad-based partnership involving closer security, economic and
cultural links.--India Abroad News Service
